4 Things to Avoid When Updating Facebook
In an earlier post, we went through some tips for good Facebook posts. But what are the taboos? Here are some things other Facebook users generally won't respond well to:
Something crude or vulgar. It'll just turn people away.
Anything that's too technical. Corporate jargon and tech-speak are not really going to appeal to the general Facebook audience. In fact, some of the least-shared words on Facebook include Google, apps and Twitter.
Advertising speak. If you want to lose people's attention, and fast, write an update that reads like an infomercial.
Inflammatory statements. It's an old rule that you shouldn't bring up politics or religion in polite company. The same goes for Facebook.
